    Ebay more expensive than internet

How can the internet be more expensive then the internet?

Obivously some things on ebay are dearer... simply because there are literally millions of members.

But only on ebay do you have the potential to get ridiculously cheap items. (well, that and charity shops/car boots)

And auction rooms and closing down sales, etc...

I've sometimes sold things for surprisingly high prices on eBay and suspected that the buyer has paid over the odds because they probably live somewhere rural without regular access to High St shops - then I look at their address and find it's in a city.

And website misprices (when /if honoured) + bargains on the grabbit forum. The only time I have got "ridiculously cheap" items online has not been on ebay but rather things like the recent Chasseur & Le Creuset offers on amazon or really cheap books from thebookpeople. Maybe I am looking in the wrong places or for the wrong things but I have yet to find a ridiculously cheap item on ebay! (at least one that I want to buy anyway)

Not everyone wants the amount to show up on their bank statements, Partners--Taxman etc are a few that come to mind.

I am surprised by what you write. There's no charge for withdrawing from £50 upwards to a Bank account which is logged with Paypal. This will be there already as part of your being with Paypal.

I agree that many books are cheaper on Amazon and I speak from both sides of the transaction. Posting costs and communication with seller also influence buying decisions.

    Suprised why?

I know there is no charge for withdrawing over £50, I use e-Bay and Paypal myself as a buyer and seller.

Many people keep funds in Paypal to use for shopping on e-Bay.
