Hoping some one on here may be able to enlighten me.
For the last year I have recieved Working Tax Credits roughly the same time each month, but always for the same amount.
This month I recieved it again but only one third of what I usually get.
Does any one know why this could be?

Have you renewed and, if so, have you received your new award notice?0

tax credits are based on the previous years income.
did you earn more in 11/12 than you earnt in 10/11?0 -
Thank you for your replies.
I have recieved nothing from the HMRC about changes. Although I have sent my paper work back to them.
I did earn more this year than last because the previous year I was a SAHM. Although when I started work I informed them of my wage and they said this was taken into consideration.
I think it is very unfair it can be cut by 66% with out even a letter,.0 -

They don't send a letter. If you look on your award notices, after you told them about your wages, it will tell you your current payments and then say something like 'Your expected payments for 2012-2013 are xxx' and that is where it would have shown the reflection.
If your income has risen, then you would expect to see a fall in tax credits eventually even if not immediately.

It may be too, that they have renewed your claim for the year already, but that the paperwork is still on the way to you. Usually the money reaches the bank account before the paperwork reaches you. Was the money paid on the regular day? It could be an extra payment to even out the payments - as when you renew, you normally get an odd payment amount deposited, and then your regular payment on the next payment date.0
