If it was me I'd go for the battery free one, unless you have particularly sweaty hands.

Well, I'd be curious to find out how these wireless mice perform: induced current is not very efficient iirc.

Thanks for your help I'm going to buy the battery free one.

I use a kensington track ball mouse,
it took some getting used to but I cant do without now,
it was around £15 price

I'm thinking of getting something similar, but it would be in addition to my mouse, for use in CAD, 3D work is a pain when only using a mouse.
