Font size keeps changing

When I type emails the font size changes from large to very large.
Even when I change it to the one I want it does not always take effect.
Second problem - I keep trying to login to a share dealing site but
never get past the second piece of info they request. Their security
includes a request for two missing digits from a memorable word which I have used for a long time, but when I enter them I am told they are wrong. I have never got further than this.
Does it sound like a problem with my laptop or a virus perhaps?.
