Halifax credit card does not show closing balance online

It was once. However the two systems were merged a while back. My Halifax and Lloyds on line pages are identical now, other than the border colours and missing balance on the Halifax page.I thought it was to do with the fact that Halifax credit cards still run off the old Halifax system, and havent actually been migrated to the Lloyds system, thats what i was told anyway0 -
It's obviously a waste of my time to respond beyond this. You have your own viewpoint which you appear to be quoting as fact, as quoted above. OTOH my information was intended to be informative and benefit the original poster and was obtained from Halifax themselves.
Yes, HBOS did have and continue to have issues with their IT implementation. However, perhaps you could explain to the other readers why the same software, running on the same servers is configured to provide a different display to Lloyds customers than to Halifax customers?
Unless you can actually provide factual information, rather than your opinion, it will be of little use.
You're not understanding that your local branch manager knows DIDDLY SQUAT about decisions taken at HQ.
PS - Halifax and Lloyds run on entirely separate hardware, and the software used run on separate platforms.0 -

No, that's just the online interface. Any bank's online banking system is purely a method of you being able to view the underlying data about your account. It will extract the relevant information from the bank's core system each time you log on. Similarly, the systems they use in branch will extract the information about your account themselves. There's a big difference between how they display the data to the customer and how it is held behind the scenes.
What is important is the computer systems that the accounts actually sit on, and it is constraints with them that is preventing the balances from being displayed.
Your conversation with the branch staff isn't the first time that someone's been given dud information by someone in a bank branch.
For a little background info, I did work for HBOS at the time of the migration.0 -
Due to a system change, they cant email statement (when back a step) but once they have the ""new?"" system running they will start online statements again. Its the same with current accounts, no more online storage statements. but you can search back 12 months of transactions. If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...:think:0
