Bristol Airport

Anyone found an easy way to get there.
Few if any signposts from the M-5.
We've been 3 times now and a different way every time.
Last time we followed the RAC Recommended route which took us down country lanes fit only for cows and very narrow cars for 30 minutes with no signposts on them whatsoever and road closed signs which we ignored.

Is it easier going past J 18 and J 19 and then getting to the airport from the south?
It's your money. Except if it's the governments.

  • This maybe easier...

    Off at M5 junction 18,
Head for the A4 Portway (travel approx 5miles)
Up over the fly over towards A3029 Brunel Way
Follow the A3029 onto Winterstoke Rd
Left into A38 Bedminster Down rd and keep right
Turn right contining on A38 Parson St
Turn right contining on A38 Bedminster Rd (travel approx 5miles)
Following the A38 down will bring you to the Airport roundabout, 3rd exit and then 1st exit.

If you google maps (get directions) Avonmouth Rd/B4054 to Bristol Airport it should give you the details above. That should be easier and is the only way we get to the Airport :D

I googled it from Almondsbury Interchange. The quickest way is through Bristol; along the M4 and down the M32. However, I would direct people down to J19 of the M5, take second exit (first being the services)' turn right almost immediately (Portbury).
Follow the road all the way to the end, turn left and stay on the fail and road for a mile or so. Just after the Failand Inn, turn right, follow road to end, and go right again.
At the bottom of the hill, turn left following the road across a small roundabout and ignoring signs to the airport that go on the flyover. Carry on under the flyover and you go through a small village - Barrow Gurney. This road is narrow in places, go careful.
It leads out onto the A38 where you turn right, carrying on until you get to the airport.

This is by far the easiest route. Head off the M5 into Bristol on the Portway, under the Clifton Suspension bridge. As you approach the city centre follow signs for A38 south and Airport. Simples!
