Paying in at Natwest Branch

On a recently opened Natwest account I've been sent a cheque book (which I requested) but not a paying in book. Do Natwest branches still require a paying in slip to be filled out to pay in cash/cheque or are they phasing it out?

Yes there's 5 in the cheque book with 20 cheques but I'm going to make 5 transactions of paying in at the branch a lot quicker than I'm going to write 20 cheques.

You can pay in at a branch using your card, a paying in slip or by just quoting your account number and sort code. They will be able to give you a receipt if you would like one.

We don't automatically send out paying in books anymore (the majority of people use their card to pay in), however if you particularly want one telephone banking (08457888444 - use saynoto0870.com!) or a branch will be able to order one for you. Once you have ordered your first one, you can request further books using online banking.

You can request a paying in book, or at least I did last year.

There was an option on line at the time to order a new cheque book or paying in book. I think it was under account admin, but I don't have an account there now so can't check.

However, as Madgagoo has now reminded me, I think I had to do the first one by phone.

So can you pay in any combination of cash only, cheque only or cash and cheque just using your bank card?

most banks have paying in slips in branch, but i have never needed to fill one in - i just give them my account details.

Surely a paying in book is now just a total waste of paper?

Once the pay in book has been set up on the system you can, if it is the initial order then this has to be done by a member of staff (telephony or branch based).
