painting aluminium window frames

Hi

We are buying a new home which has aluminium frames but are double glazed. We are looking to do up the house and then sell on hopefully.

All of the neighbours etc have upvc double glazing. This is obviously an option for us but are on a tight budget!

Would we be able to paint the frames white if so how would we go about it?

Do you think it will have the desired effect or are we skimping on something that we need to do.

THere are going to be 7 windows of various sizes and 2 doors. Should we just do the front of the house and then paint the others?

What about wooden windows saw some ready made ones in wickes yesterday that were nice.

I imagine that it will not increase the propertuesvalue as such but will make it easier to sell if we had it fully double glazed?

Your thoughts are appreciasted

there is a special aluminium primer. but ive used plain old primer/undercoat in the past and its been ok. esp for a year if ur selling up.

re DG. buyers just expect it nowadays. and some buyers would be put off if there is no DG.
    Get some gorm.
