striking a company off

I have the DS01 form to strike off a limited company.
Do I need to contact HMRC and advise them or will companies house do that as part of the process (directly or indirectly via London Gazette adverts)?
The company has some trading losses carried forward from the previous year.
The company hasnt traded in 6-months and is no longer required. There are no creditors/debtors, shareholders (apart from myself) or employees.

If the Company has been registered for VAT then you will need to complete one of these :

If NOT VAT registered, I would tell HMRC that the Company has ceased because HMRC will not automatically detect that the Co has ceased.
Hope this helps.0 -

thanks. the company has not be VAT registered since 2001 so I guess I dont need to worry about that side.
is there a special business unit in HMRC to inform or is it just the office where the CT600 is sent? I assume I just send a copy of the DS01 form.
Do I need to send copies to the company's bankers?"enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0 -
