Dishwasher tablet not dissolving

We bought a new Whilpool dishwasher a couple of months ago and I am not at all pleased with it! Began by using the eco programme, which seemed poor even on lightly soiled pots, so now onto main heavy duty prog but having probs with detergent tablets not dissolving. On almost every wash the tablet, or part of it is still in the dispenser. The door has opened but the tablet is not dissolving. Any ideas?? As far as I can see I am loading it OK. Should I contact the maker?

Are you using what the manufacturer recommends? The dishwashers I have bought always recommend powder. Occasionally I have had undissolved powder but this have been due to something moving and then preventing the door opening properly.I'm retiring at 55. You can but dream.0

I would suspect that the arms/sprays are not working correctly - the problem is that as soon as you open the door the machine stops anyway !
However, you can usually see the rotating arms coming to a standstill.
It is also a bit strange that you say the tablet is still in the dispenser - when my dispenser opens the tablet falls (with a loud "clunk") into bottom of the machine.
If you have only had it "a couple" of months contact the shop you bought it from, not the manufacturer.0 -
does sound straneg almost like you not getting enouhg water into the machine wich would explain why dishes not washing and tablet not dissolving. sounds like there is a prob with machine i would deff get in contact with them.0

Try the obvious things first...
Is the inlet valve turned on properly ??
Has the inlet hose got a kink in it ??
Is the inlet filter found in the end of the hose blocked ??

I had that a few times.
I now put the tablet in the cutlery holder ( read it somewhere and it said it stops your machine getting clogged up, or something ).
The dishes comeout cleaner IMO, there is no residue left .
My Bosch DW is awful on the eko mode ( 32 min wash ), cereal bowls still have residue of cereal on them, egg on knives etc, works great on 50 deg wash, so use that mostly. But defo better with tablet in cutelry tray.
Also those liquitabs got stuck in the tablet dispenser a lot, so it could be that.
The eko mode predominately washes with cold water, to get rid of most of the dirt, before the final hot wash. It is only any good for a few, say 1/4 loads of the DW0 -
Thanks for the suggestions. Have just checked the machine as it has just finished and this time all the tablet has gone! Most odd - I am not aware of doing anything different! Will monitor the situation and try some of the suggestions above0
