Hi i was wondering if anyone could help me, I signed on to jsa on may 28th and i was 17. they told me when i turned 18 i would have to make a new adult claim so i just turned 18 on june 8th and made a new adult claim.
i had an apointment to make the new claim on the 25th june and i first signed on on the 9th july.
When i was 17 it only took a week to proccess my claim but this time when i went to sign on they said the claim isnt processed yet. its been 14 working days,
Does anyone know if the claim gets processed will the money go straight in my bank? or will i have to sign on again before getting anything thanks you

I have been advised that it will be paid directly, until date. You must continue to keep your appointments in the meantime, so that you are not deducted any amounts down the line.

Thanks for the reply. I next sign on on 23rd July, i was just wondering if my claim gets processed before then will the money off the last 2 weeks go into my bank or will they just do it after i next sign on. I know that you dont get anything for the first 3 days of your claim but i havnt had anything since the 14th June and i got refused a crisis loan

Mine took about 4 weeks to process recently. It is slower this time of year because of college/uni courses and school ending etc. Once it was processed I got the 4 weeks back payment the same day (of course for this your bank account needs faster payments activated), and then I got the next payment as normal.
Also, if you can, give them a call. It is what I did and they called my local processing office who called me back in an hour to say it was done! If I hadn't done that I might still be waiting!0 -
thanks for the help. its only been 14 working days since i made my adult claim so it could still be another 2 weeks before i get anything then. I will ring them on monday to ask if its been done yet, do you know if i could get an emergancy counter payment or somthing since i havnt had anything since the 14th of june

As soon as the claim is processed it will be paid directly into your bank account if that is how you have asked to be paid and will go from the date of your claim until your last signing date.
However, there is a fair backlog of claims but the new claims processing teams have 11 working days from the date they receive it to try to process your claim. If it is over 11 working days you can contact them and ask them to consider an emergency payment, this usually results in them pulling your claim and processing it for you asap.
Edited to ask are you working a few hours a week, or estranged from your family?0 -
ok thank you and no im not working and im living with my mother0
