So, I am always putting things in my basket and leaving them there while I browse other things.
A few days ago I asked the seller how much postage of several things would be - I had these items in my basket. I did not 'confirm the purchase' and I have not had any confirmation email. I definately did not buy them.
However, today I have had 6 emails from the seller asking me to pay for these items. Whats more, the item I had in my basket ended - there was 8 hours to go when I found them, they were relisted but at a higher price than I had intially found them for so I decided not to buy.
I am now wondering what the hell I might have 'bought'. I have no idea how - I had dogs beds in there as well. I did not click to buy anything though, I have no 'you bought xx' emails and the items
I've just checked 'My Ebay' and they are in there as a purchase (no dog beds, just these). How can I buy them when I've not confirmed the purchase??? And how can the price rise if I did inadvertantely 'buy' them when there was 8 hours to go.
I am just confused now. Any know what this is all about??

Just checked emails and there are definitely no confirmations of purchase there, just eBay generated emails asking me to pay for my items...... 2 days after I put them in my basket and emailed the seller. !!!!!!!!
And the bloody postage has been increased. It was 99p plus 50p per item - it is 5 items and the charge is £3.99.
Peed off!!!!0 -
Not 100% sure, but I would guess the items that are left are the one that you committed to buy.

Items in your eBay shopping basket are not reserved
Most items in your eBay shopping basket will be available to other buyers until you pay for them. You can remove them from your basket at any time, with the exception of items that you've committed to buy, such as items you've won through auction-style listings, accepted best offers or committed to buy with Buy It Now. Remember, many items on eBay are available in limited quantities, so an item may sell out before you check out.
Items you've committed to buy
Some items will appear in your eBay shopping basket because you've committed to buy them, such as items won in auction-style listings, with best offer, or Buy It Now. These items will be saved in your eBay shopping basket until you pay for them.0 -
I think you can always cancel the whole transaction0

If the purchases are a mistake I suggest using the 'resolve a problem' link on each item and using the 'I want to cancel a purchase' option.
Contact the seller and explain you have made a mistake.0 -
I had a few things from one seller in my basket a few weeks ago. I wanted to ask her to combine the postage and how much it would be before I bought so I clicked on the 'request total from seller' button, I get this as a message at the top of the screen and a "commit and buy" button at the bottom:

There isn't a way to group the items together and ask for a postage quote that I can find anyway unless you list them in an ebay message. If that is how you asked, please ignore me - it's late and it's been a long day

No, I did not get that, I have 5 or 6 items in there from the same seller - one I can appreciate I *may* have made a mistake but there are 5. And the items ended and then the seller got back to me.
And I certainly never got that message else I would not have bothered. I reckon that it must have been a glitch.
I did not know if this was standard practice now that just putting stuff in the basket meant that someone could check out for you if you request a total.
I'll do the resolve a problem thing, although I have already emailed the seller and said I did not commit to purchase, I assumed when requesting the postage price that the seller would get back to me and then I could decide whether I wanted them - but it has DEFINITELY confirmed me buying them without that warning coming up.
Maybe it's a glitch.
I had that £10 voucher code and chose the items and then noticed that it said I could only chose to put the money towards one item and not include the P&P so I decided not to bother as they were 5 low value items.
Thanks for your help.0 -

.
You can use the voucher against as many items as you like - i got 3 - but they ALL must be from the home and garden category.
Simplest way to do it is choose only items with free p&p - then postage is included
