Hi,

I done a soft search with rate setter and received the following back:

Unfortunately we cannot offer you a loan at this time. This is partly because we have been unable to identify you – this is a problem you may face elsewhere and so the best thing to do might be to check your credit file to understand why this is happening. If you want to do this, we recommend Equifax.

I have checked my Equifax report and noticed this:
ELECTORAL ROLL & ROLLING REGISTER INFORMATION"

#1
Name: JAMES WAUGH
Date: 2006-2012
Edited Register: No
DOB: 11/04/1989

#2
Name: JIMMY WAUGH
Date: 1989-1990
Edited Register: Yes
DOB:

Will the above effect my credit score and the ability to get a loan? #1 is me and #2 relates to my father.

I have checked all 3 credit reports and has never missed a payment, no CCJ's e.c.t

I have tried Barclays and the pre-approved offer was 22%.

EDIT: Will the following above "Electrol Roll" have any effect on my credit and what does it mean?

If you are on the electoral roll you stand a better chance of obtaining credit than if you are not.
You need to speak to the CRA about your father's details being on your file. They need to separate them.

I've contacted Equifax before and it and they didn't really want to know an said that it wouldn't affect me getting credit. But it doesn't seem the case.

No advice - but seriously, take your real name and real DOB off your posts!!

' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".

Thanks for your reply, that's not my real surname I'm using and I've changed my DOB.

Are you actually on the electoral roll now? If not, getting credit will not be easy.
