Finding a place to rent? Websites?

My girlfriend and I are looking to move in together in the next few weeks, once one of us manages to get a job (we've both just graduated from university). We'll be looking for work in Reading and Central London, so we would need to find a flat/house commutable to those areas. We do not want to share a house with other people.
Can anyone recommend any good websites for finding a flat or a house to rent? If possible, with an option to exclude "house shares" as this is what seems to turn up in search results most of the time. We're looking at £500-650 per month ideally.

I found Rightmove very good when advertising a property to let so I'd suggest that as a good place to startRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

You can try putting in a minimum search price as well as maximum, to weed out the house shares.
Rightmove is the biggest, but not every agent advertises there - I just found a new place on zoopla, and it wasn't on rightmove.
I also tried findaproperty, but they just seemed to have the same ones as rightmove but significantly later. It was emailing me details of "newly listed" properties that I already knew had gone.
A word of warning, it's not clear from your post if you will both be working or just one of you. When I was booking viewings, they all asked whether we would both be working full time. So you might find it difficult if one of you isn't.0 -
