Sold in the correct manner
How many of you have lied to try and reclaim.
Let us see if anyone can be honest........................
I can name and prove without a shadow of doubt 186 people who have done so
Does everyone on this site think that reclaiming PPI regardless of the fact it was mis sold or not is their god given right ???
I will not hold my breath

I'm guessing you are a complaints handler and are seeing the fraudulent complaints.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

no
I am today the ex MD of a mortgage brokerage who can no longer pay £500 to FOS every time, regardless of the fact not one of 186 cases have been upheld. All of these cases had been defended with call recording and proof of sale but the clients decided to send to FOS regardless just in case.0 -
I do sympathise with you, but unfortunately regardless of the doubtless professional manner in which you may have sold it, PPI was and is an overly expensive rubbish product.
I'm not and nor have I ever advocated telling untruths in order to facilitate a successful complaint, but I do believe those who have been genuinely mis-sold deserve redress.
You seem to be bitter at sites like this one which you say encourage lies. But I think your ire is misplaced. Instead you should be annoyed at the way in which FOS is financed and you should be equally annoyed at the Claims Management Companies who bombard daytime television and newspapers with misleading adverts encouraging even the most spurious complaint.0 -
nonsense
The right PPI on a mortgage is not a 'overly expensive rubbish product'
I do not express an opinion on other products PPI was allegedly mis sold on
Centerpoint via Hamilton administered the product I sold and it was excellent cover, even for the self employed.
I suggest you do some product research before you come out with such bile0 -

you said, and to quote
'PPI was and is an overly expensive rubbish product'
Prove your point from my example
i am stating that the people who have forced me out of business should rot in hell and your post was nonsense in my regard0 -
interesting discussion!!
Iam new to this and have just discovered that my Wife was paying redundancy insurance for our Mortgage for 5 years but wasn't working and the company who the insurance policy was with continued to take the direct debit payment knowing fully that my Wife wasn't working as they had paid out previously on a claim.
Sheer ignorance on our part - can we claim money back for payments they took after she was made redundant - is this more straightforward than a ppi claim??0 -
in a nutshell yes, you have more than a valid claim0

Until such time as you actually need it, ANY insurance is "overly expensive".
The fact is that that if you took a mortgage in ten years ago and the broker did not offer PPI for it then, if you lost your job, you could now take him to FOS for being negligent.
It is immoral that the OP has been put out of business because he has to pay fees when he has done nothing wrong.0 -
The government, under the time of the mortgage code encouraged mortgage PPI.
We had to get a signed disclaimer if it was not taken explaining the facts re state help etc0
