Gift for a 2 year old?

I'm hoping some of you who have little ones can help me...I need to find a birthday gift for a little girl who is turning two. Her parents are quite keen on things being natural/ethical and I'm not a big fan of plastic toys either so I'd like to find something that fits those criteria but is still fun for her to play with. (and preferably doesn't cost a fortune)
Any ideas?

The very hungry caterpillar
Each peach pear plum
Peepo

There are loads of good ones, books are my two year old's single most favourite thing.0 -

What do you think of this? Would it go down well in your house?

She does love books! I was thinking toy for her birthday though because I did books for Christmas lol
Knowing what a sucker I am for buying her gifts it may well end up a book and a toy lolCommon sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

I'd say that's too young. I'd more likely buy that for a first birthday present.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0 -
