Chrome

keep getting notices to download/click on Chrome "to get a better experience"
The format of my AOL email has changed as the tell me my browser is out of date (I use IE but dont know which version - have an HP with Vista on it so is it IE 8 ?)

Should I click on Chrome or will this alter things dramatically ?

In Internet Explorer, click on the 'Help' menu and click on 'About'

You'll find your version in there. Sounds more like you're using IE7.

ah thanks. It's IE 8. .Isn't that the latest version ? Don't want to click on Chrome if it alters things a lot.

Yes. You could always give the portable version a try to see if you like it first:

http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/google_chrome_portable/

(which can be installed on your HD, it doesn't have to be on a flash drive)

IE9 is the latest, though Vista requires to be on Service Pack 2.

Why not download it and give it a try? If you don't like it you could always remove it & go back to IE
