pls recommend a vet in east london

We live on the Isle of Dogs, in a rental house with 2 white fluffy dogs. There is one vet practice in the area where we can walk to (about 20 mins). However, my neighbour does not like the practice and recommends one in the City where she takes her dog to. We have taken our 2 dogs there, but it was really hard work because we have to take 2 tube trains. We would like to be able to take our dogs when require to a vet practice in East London area where I can drive and park easily (driving to the City would be a nightmare for me). So, could you please recommend a few vets whom you have used in East London area, postcode starting with E? Cost is not a major factor, rather a skillful and caring vet in an easy location to get to from E14. Many thanks.

Neil Hampson is the principal vet at this practice ...always ask for him by name. He is an excellent vet and a really caring person. Highly recommended.
You can park right outside on the road.
Edit to add....Goddards have a reputation ( deservedly ) of being very expensive, which is why we all call their hospital facilities 'The Wanstead Hilton'0 -
Thank you, pimento and paddypaws101, for your replies to my request. I will check both out by driving to each to see how easy it will be to get there from the Isle of Dogs / Canary Wharf area.0

Thanks all for your further replies. I will follow up the leads you gave. I need to be able to drive them to the vet instead of taking public transport. I cannot manage both on trains. Unfortunately we cannot insure our dogs - one is 8.5 years old and one is 9.5 years old. We brought them here from Australia! We had them when they were puppies. They love the English weather - they are indoor dogs. They just had their teeth cleaned this week - cost £700! Hubby almost had a heart attack. But that was what it cost in Australia as well.0

OK- why don;t you try Celia Hammond in Canning Town?
They do not have their own parking but there is a parking lot across the road from them.
They are a charity but you do not have to be on benefits to use them.
Their Canning Town branch is probably the closest to you.0 -

If you'd like to get them insured why not try AXA http://www.axa.co.uk/insurance/pet
When I brought my girls from Spain (a dog aged 10 and a cat aged 7) they were too old for most insurance companies but AXA didn't impose age limits.
It's 'for life' cover and they have a good reputation.
They don't cover teeth cleaning though unfortunately0 -
The Wansted "Hilton" has saved my little cat Sophie from death twice now and their service was outstanding.
I have used their services a few times with various diffrent animals and each time I could not fault them.
When I had to have my boxer Boo PTS as she collapsed their compasion was second to none they even sent me 2 little sympathy cards which I received a few days later.
I unfortunately used Best Friends on one occassion and the state I received my little boy Tuppence back after was disgusting! They had him 3 days couldn't find what was wrong with him. Took him to Goddards in Plaistow Mr Eves there took 1 look and knew straight away what was wrong. We still had to have him PTS but at least we knew the cause. Best Friends had wanted us to give him aspirin for a possible heart defect when it was actually a spinal injury.
Yes they are more expensive than others but as the old saying goes you get what you pay for :TFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0
