While I wouldn't go down the James Hunt or Tiff Needell route of buying an underpowered grott box to get my kicks (minivan or minor where you have to drive them flat out anyway but are great fun), I would steer away from a Z car. All the ones I have seen are very, very rusty under the skin and, because of their small panel build, are difficult to fix properly.
Go with the bountiful MX5, you know it makes sense.
  • i wouldnt bother with a boxter, discs and pads are way expensive and a veriety of different sizes were fitted where possible ranging in prices.

the 350Z is to me an odd joice of a weekend joy toy, and many have seen the wrong side of a bush and put back together.

the mx5 is very tuneable, and a favourate track day/weekend car although i see it as a hairdressers car.

again skyline has been mentioned, or the pulsar gtr, these cars can produce allot of BHP when tuned up, ive recently had the pleasure of taking a trip in a 900WBHP stage 1 run in monster, had me grinning from ear to ear by end of run in it should hit a hopefully road legal 1000BHP+ skyline on a K plate.

MK1 focus RS, plenty out there in standard or tuned form.
