The package we are looking at includes cake stand, and table centrepieces, so was just planning on doing buttonholes for Groom and my dad, and my bouquet and my sisters.

That dress sounds like a real bargain, definitly going to give the sale racks a look.

Also just found out that OH has got a new job, so the savings plan has got a boost :D

So, at the moment this is the budget:-
    Ceremony location fee - £250
Registrar - £200, but may go with humanist which is £350
    Marraige License - £70
Reception - £2,918 (includes so much stuff)
    Additional drinks - £400
    Cake - £100 (M&S)
    1st night accomodation - £500 (can't remember where I got this)
    Dress - £300
    Bridesmaid - £100 (1 dress & shoes)
    Rings - £85 (already got H2B for £11 :D)
    Total flowers - £70 (fake & DIY)
Hair & make-up - £100 (just mine, BM is paying herself)
    Band - £400
Photographer - £125 (wants to build portfolio)
Videographer - £295 (really want this but can cut if needed)
    Disposable Cameras - £40
    Stationery & postage - £94
Gifts - £30 (rose bushes for parents & little mirror for BM)
Favours - £10 (doing pebbles with names & date etc)
Men's clothes - already owns kilt & his BM will do own thing
Ceremony musicians - provided by MIL2B who knows half the BBC orchestra, so getting a string quartet
Veil - already owned, though kind of want a cathedral length one now
    Shoes - already owned
    Total - £6,087

Lots of areas I can cut down on if need be, so fairly happy with this now.

Glad you're getting everything hammered out :)
The first night hotel room's pretty pricey - better be somewhere nice ;)

Other than that, the main thing you're missing is "MISC/Contingency" which you should really budget for.

Think extra petrol, car parking, extra exercise / beauty, underwear, tips, meals the day(s) before. etc etc We had a bunch of random stuff crop up at the last minute...for example, on the day before the wedding, DW decided that we should have fancy toilet paper and hand towels in all of the toilets - there went an extra £30.

You should try and put something aside for bits and pieces that will add up...

The room is expensive, I think it is actually less than that, but couldn't remember.

Definitely do need a contingency, though I am hoping to have saved up an extra £500 in case of emergencies...

    Hi

My partner and I are working on our moneysaving wedding, and I've done a few rough budgets depending on venues etc. I've recently managed to get the budgt down to £5,000, and we intend to save up £4,000 with £1,000 coming form our parents.
Essentially, I wanted to see what you think about some of the costs I have down.

My dress - £300 (planning on hitting the wedding sample sales or Ellie's Bridal online)
Bridesmaid - £100 (just having my older sister, who is fussy, but if she wants something more expensive she can pay the difference:T)
Flowers - £60 (planning to do them myself, probably silk or foam)
    Cake - £100 (M&S decorate yourself ones)
    Invites - £20 (will need about 35)

I already have shoes, tiara and a veil from when I almost got married a few years ago before having second thoughts, but sold my dress.

How do these sound to people? I have to try and find out what colour my sister would agree to wear before I can really get going, I already know that pink, green, blue, brown are all out

Very excited and glad I can share on here

When you are coming down Glasgow way to view venues you definatley HAVE to check out Flowerscene on Seaward Street in Kinning Park (near glasgow city centre but you can park outside). i got 50 ivory roses, 2 slightly different ones to make them look more natural. they were 80-90p each. I got a roll of burgundy ribbon to wrap round the stems when bouquets are made, about £3. Then i am using the same ribbon to wrap round the cake. There is loads left even after 5 BM bouquets! We are having the M&S cake too! Oh and i got 25 pearl pins £1.49 and 25 diamante pins £1.65 for the centres of the flowers and to secure the ribbon at the back of the cake.

Got our invites from vistaprint well in advance so we codul wait on the free deals coming through and choose the cheapest 21 day delivery. Ended up getting 50 day invites, 50 evening and 80 thank you cards for under £25!

I have 5 bridesmaids so colour was a difficult choice too. We went for a 'merlot' colour dress from BHS which suits them all really well. And believe me they are very different! a blonde fair skin, a red head fair skin, a brunette olive skin .......

The Moorpark venue does not include chair covers. This may add to your budget too. Last time I spoke to Jackie they were £3.50 per chair but she was pricing new ones which may be cheaper.

The honeymoon suite is £250. Other rooms are £145.

    Hope this helps!

I've already bought some seriously tacky 'I Do' stickers for the bottom of my shoes...Why did I download the app!!!!!

I didn't think you had to kneel down in non-church weddings?
