I'm thinking about switching to FD but would just like to know if anybody knows which credit reference agencies they use for current account opening?
My Experian and Equifax files look great but there is a satisfied default for Three on my Call Credit report for another few months.
Does anybody know?

I don't know about that - you're applying for a current account with a £250 overdraft, not a credit card. FD tend to be a little picky I've heard but I opened a 1st Account without being on the electoral roll and only 3 months after having been rejected by Amex for a platinum cash back card (again!).
I would either just apply or give them a ring, they're very helpful and would no doubt confirm what CRAs they use and if the old default will be an issue.0 -

Thanks... I just bit the bullet and applied and application was a successful with the standard £500 od. :j
Very relieved that a small blip on my file hasn't stopped me switching!Sorted out my finances...

Congrats. Just so you know though, the standard overdraft with FD is £250 which is interest free. They may have given you a £500 overdraft but only the first £250 will be interest free.0 -
Defaults with communication providers (e.g. TV, Internet, Mobile) are not generally considered as bad as defaults on financial products.
Also, if you have the type of current account where you are required to put your salary in then the bank is not really going to care so much. As it knows that the overdraft it offers (£500) is going to be less than the salary paid in each month.
A cynic would also suggest that a person who can afford an overdraft, but is sometimes a bit lax on payments is a profitiable customer.0 -
I just got rejected on mine. I defaulted on credit cards about 5+ years ago. I cleared them all now but I currently have a 600 overdraft with Lloyds.
I went through the whole process on phone just now and got rejected in end. Very disheartening. I need to pull my finger out and take every step to get back on track.0 -

Just an update on this... I checked my call credit today with a fresh report and there was no search by FD recorded. I also checked Experian and there was both an identity check and a current account application by FD.
So maybe they don't search CallCredit for current account applications?Sorted out my finances...
