negative feedback - can it be put back?

Hi,
I'm not in the habit of leaving negative feedback however I bought a website via ebay as a going concern. What turns out is the seller despite numerous emails confirming the website would be sold with traffic it wasn't. I've had a number of emails back and forth from the seller but they maintianed the position that they sold me a domain and a link to affliate program only and traffic mentioned was what could happen but they don't help market the site. I was annoyed at it costing me £250 for something I could have got for less than £20. I have now filed negative feedback. The seller isn't happy and asked me to remove it immediately while he resolved the problem. I however said I will be happy to remove it once they show me how to market the site to achieve the profits they stated (about £200 a month!). If I remove it can I put it back or not please?

looks like you've been suckered by one of these 'get rich quick' schemes. If an offer looks too good to be true it is unlikely to be true.

In answer to your question, if you do remove the feedback it cannot be re-instated at a later date.

It can be withdrawn but not replaced.

I would tell them that you'll offer a mutual withdrawal of the feedback (http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MFWRequest) once you've got what was promised on the listing.

I also provide domains & hosting, which would cost around the same for 2 yrs without any traffic

i think that you both have to file for a mutual withdrawl of the negative comment.

as far as i know once that's done, you can't then re-negative or positive.

If you are convinced they mis-advertised the product try contacting ebay/ paypal and go through that route to get your cash back.

in order to remove negative feedback. You and the seller both need to agree to mutually withdraw feedback. You can do so by completing a form on eBay. The negative rating will be removed but your comment will remain. You won't be able to leave feedback for the transaction again.
