cutest thing at school celebration ceremony, just wanted to share :D

it was my 6 year old daughters celebration thing at the town church this afternoon, I wasnt going to go as my dd has had a chest infection and i think im starting with it, but I dragged myself and my son along and am so glad i did.

I was, for a change, sat where I could see my daughter, she was literally just across the aisle from me, just her friend in between us. The awards were given out and then all of a sudden the children were stood up and started singing Gary Barlow and the Military Wives "Sing".

Well that was it for me, I started crying lol. They honestly sounded sooooo beautiful, I wasnt overly fussed about the song, having not really heard it much (no idea how I managed that lol) but now its my favourite thing. I videoed my daughter (her school are great like that!) and although the video quality is poor on my phone just hearing them makes me well up again.

And as a bonus, the headteacher informed all us parents that they had filmed the children singing this song a couple of weeks ago after their sports day was rained off..........and they're putting it onto dvd and each child will be given a copy to bring home to us!!!!!!!

This is the Infant school I went to as a child and im sooooo pleased my daughter is there, and cant wait for my son to start in september and be involved in all these things too, though i'll need double shares in kleenex!!!!

  • Awwwww! I hope you're both feeling better soon xxx
  • thankyou, my dd was given antibotics and they seemed to have an immediate effect on her, she had been off school since monday, pale and listless, but perked up no end after 2 doses of medicine, and was well enough to go to school. Im thinking mine is just a bad cold, but my son has started with the same barking cough my daughter has so am thinking we'll be back at the doctors tomorrow for him :(
  • Well done your daughter, her classmates and their school x

Aw I'm welling up, aren't children just the best tonic?
Hope you all get well soon, and well done to the school for providing (and not selling) dvd's.

How lovely to hear something nice for a change!

That is good that they let you video things like that, so many schools will not let you now.

There is a lot of this virus thing going around I have had it three times so far this year and my daughter twice. Most be something to do with the weather I think.

Hope you are all better soon.
