credit card refunds

Im wondering if someone can help me, ive been trying to get my credit card details ive closed my account and have no details of my account nr or card nr etc...... how do i find all this out ??? iv contacted them but they have told me its near on impossible to get the details as they say they no longer have them ?? is this true ?? i find it hard to believe ......:think:

    You can try a DAR, but it may be a wasted £10.

    They'll have the details most likely (unless its some insane time ago), but they may well be archived away somewhere that typical customer support staff can't access.

    I know at work we keep credit agreements for 10 years, but only the last 12 months are accessible to all but account managers.
  • this is what ive been told, that they only keep them accessable for 12 mnths but i can apply for a 'subject access request' but this is proving to be rather difficult !!

    They may have been purged, or archived then, as Gromitt says.

    i can apply for a 'subject access request' but this is proving to be rather difficult !!

    It's not clear exactly what you mean by difficult.
    This is a legal requirement under the data protection act.
    Firms have no choice but to apply.
    If you don't mind wating £10 (if it's a long time ago) then you can find template letters to request a SAR.
    If they ignore it you can report them as it's a legal requirement.
