E:Unknown, not many left. Bosch washing mc [CLOSED]

Comet have a few Bosch WXF3267 washing machines for £349.99. Well below currys at £499. I think the website was the same with free del.

This is a 1600 spin machine with many features etc... and its cheaper than the 1400 spin model next down in the range!! (Comet price £468).

I think its about to be discontinued or superceded as stock was pretty low in the stores when they searched for me.

Also in the box is a free second years guarantee if you send in the document quickly.

Cheers,

Basill

I bought a Bosch washer 9 years ago. It was the worst machine I had ever owned. It was slow, always blocking, didn't rinse properly and noisy. The engineer was constantly out fixing it. He told me that Bosch washing machines were a load of crap and not built to the same quality or standard of their other appliances. I asked him if he was buying a washing machine what he would go for. He said the cheapest possible and be prepared to throw it after a couple of years. In his opinion Hoover used to be superb but had downgraded their components, Hotpoint were always overpriced and tempermental. Shame really becausemy first Hoover lasted 9 years with just one breakdown before I bought the Bosch. Now have a Zanussi. Again quickest wash is 60mins even though it has a timer that says 52 minutes.

I have one of these machines that I purchased last year for £360 - the best price I could find at the time.

IMO It is a good machine. Very quiet and pretty efficient too with rating AAA+. The 6kg washload is helpful as I wash my toddler's nappies every couple of days. Occasionally I get the odd wash that doesn't come out spotless but more often than not it is either me putting too much washing in, or not adding enough detergent.

£349 looks to be a good price.

I too have never been happy with my Bosch. When it finally gives up I think I'm going to buy a really cheap one and throw it when it goes wrong.

I always thought that Bosch were a good make, but I've had nothing but problems with mine. For instance the rubber (plastic?) seal around the drum allows the clothes partially through to the edge of the drum, the drum gets coated with grey gunge and this is transferred to the clothes. The clothes then have dark grey streaks on them that won't wash out very easily. If you put the machine on a rinse cycle with nothing in you can see bits floating in the machine which can be wiped out afterwards (more gunge), but it doesn't matter how many rinse cycles you go through the bits never disappear. The only way I have found to get round this (most of the time) is to use the quick wash cycle!!!

Wouldn't have another Bosch if you gave it to me.

I have had an Ariston washer drier for 13 years and I have moved house with it 3 times and it has yet to develop a fault and still cleans clothes well.

My parents and inlaws have been through 2 or 3 Hoover and Zanussi machines each during that time!

I only bought the Ariston because it was the cheapest one in the store at the time! I figured if I could get a few years out of it I would buy a better make when I could afford it.

I bought a Bosch Fridge Freezer 3 years ago and it broke down within a few months. Despite several attempts they could not fix it and they gave me a replacement model which had a small freezer compartment. This has been working fine for the past 2 years but I am not expecting a long life out of it.

I've just bought a Whirlpool. Recommended by my local dealer who said that he and his mum have one. Not the most expensive, but does a lovely wash, and it's quiet too!

Also had an Ariston for years with no problems until it was only fit for the tip.

Replaced with a Bosch four years ago and have no complaints whatsoever, or rather the wife doesn't, well, not about the washing machine anyway :)

Until about 2 hours ago, I would have said buy Bosch any time. My last dishwasher lasted 10 years, and my last washer dryer lasted the same. This afternoon, my 4 month old washer dryer decided to stop spinning. I cleaned the pump and reset the machine to no avail. I have been trying to get hold of Bosch Appliance Service Department for 2 hours now, and cannot get through. I have been ringing a very costly 0870 no and getting nowhere. I have tried emailing without success.

Do yourself a favour. Buy a machine from a company who does not use 0870 nos for service calls.
