excel assistance required as I am lost

Options
Hi

I am trying to set up an excel page with an initial investment that grows at 1% daily although should daily % change I need to be able to change it but other than sitting here with calculator and imputting each sum to show:

a: balance brought forward for that day
b: Daily %
c: Profit for day
d: total although this is also column a of next line

is it possible to do this as an auto sum of some kind?

Thank you so much for your time and should the answer be simple please forgive my lack of know how and I bow down to your superior skills

  • a1 : "Starting balance"
    b1 : "Daily%"
    c1 : "Increase"
    d1 : "End balance"
a2 : 100 (or whatever your initial balance is)
    b2 : 1
    c2 : =(b2/100)*a2
    d2 : =c2+a2
    a3 : =d2
    b3 : =b2
    c3 : =(b3/100)*a3
    d3 : =c3+a3

Then highlight row 3 and drag it down for as many entries as you need

If the daily interest rate changes, just enter the new value on the first day affected and it will automatically be copied to subsequent days.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.

I recommend adding an extra column with the date. Excel will increment this automatically as you drag the row down.

Enter all the info into A1 through D3, then click on the '3' at the left edge of row 3 to highlight the entire row. At the bottom left edge of the selected row you will see a small square. Click on this and whilst holding the mouse button down, drag down for the required number of rows, then release the mouse button
How do I add a signature?

If the interest rate is an annual rate then the calculation in C2 needs to be divided by either 365 or 366.

If on the other hand, it is a daily 1% please let me know where we can all have a piece of this!
  • have it solved now thank you very much for your help.

Daily rate is 1% although some days can be 34% and it is all to do with betting on betfair and a challange but only for some and is not a reccomendation.

having started with £20 I trned it into £1000 now me and some friends are going to choose one et a day at 1.01 or so in the under 6.5 goals in a game and see who wins most rolling total each day for a year.

This was so can keep track to be able to use any other funds to bet on other games yet keeping challange cash seperate.

I didn't know you could do that on whole rows! You live and learn. Thanks

If you Google Excel fill Handle you will get a shed load of tips on this very useful tool. The one I use most is the double click.
