Hi All,
my mum's flying Stanstead to Venice by Ryan Air and has not booked any hold baggage, just 1 item of hand luggage. I have never flown with them before so I wondered if she can have any hand creams, drinks, food in the bag? What do other people do? Are there any special provisions, like sealed bags, etc?
thanks!

You should find the info you require on the Ryanair website, the Stansted airport website or both.0

I looked at http://www.ryanair.com/en/terms-and-conditions#article8-prohibitedarticles
and the only mention I could find was this:
"8.10.1.6 The carriage of liquids, aerosols and gels into the security restricted area of an airport and onboard aircraft is controlled in accordance with current EU Security Requirements."
Anyone else offer any advice? thanks.0 -

you can carry them on as long as they are 100ml or less and fit in a 20cm by 20cm zip bag (just buy some freezer bags from the supermarket) food will be fine i always take a tube of pringles0

She can take any food she wants, drinks she can buy inside the airport, and toiletres she can buy inside or take 100 ml from home. (they sell empty 100ml containers in Wilkinsons, Superdrug, etc).
Buy the frozen bags from the supermarket, in Stansted they charge you for them!! (they are free in Gatwick)0 -
Thanks for all the advice, much appreciated.0

Ryanair :
passenger cabin baggage containing any liquids, gels, pastes, lotions or liquid cosmetics MUST be presented at the airport passenger security point in a transparent re-sealable bag of no more than one litre capacity (e.g. 20cm x 20cm ziplock freezer bag). Only gels, pastes, lotions and liquid cosmetics in containers of 100mls or less will be permitted through the passenger security screening points at all EU/EEA Airports, please note there is a limit of one transparent resealable plastic bag per person.
Stansted Airport :
Some liquids (e.g. gels, lotions, pastes, liquid cosmetics, foams and foodstuffs) are now allowed through airport security check points. There are the following restrictions on the quantity of liquids:
- Liquids may only be carried within separate containers each of which with a capacity not greater than 100ml.
- These containers must be brought to the airport contained in a single, transparent, re-sealable plastic bag, which itself must not exceed 1 litre in capacity (approximately 20cms x 20cms). The contents of the plastic bag must fit comfortably and the bag must be sealed.
- Each passenger may carry only one such bag of liquids. The bag must be presented for examination.
Please note 'Liquids' include:- All drinks, including water, soup, syrups
- Creams, lotions, oils, perfumes, mascara etc
- Sprays and pressurized containers including shaving foam and spray deodorants
- Pastes, including toothpastes
- Gels, including hair and shower gel
- Any other solutions and items of similar consistency
