Indesit washing machine issue

Had an issue today with our Indesit washing machine-it would just cut out with no lights blinking or anything to help diagnose whats wrong. Then every few seconds something clicks like its trying to release the the door lock mechanism.
If you leave it off for an hour or so and power it back on it works fine for a while then cuts out again.
Could it be overheating?Only changed the heating element a couple of months ago..
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
