Does jewellery sell on ebay?

I have 5 or 6 sets of jewellery, mainly necklaces and earings, that people have bought for me over the years. I never wear jewellery, and wondered if this is something that people would buy on ebay? I sell mainly odd stuff to clear the house more than anything, and these set are no use to me, not worth a huge amount I wouldn't have thought, but they are quite nice, and before I go to the time and effort of listing I thought I would ask!

thanks very much, I doubt mine as worth as much as yours, but every little does help towards my holiday fund! Will give it a go at the weekend.

I buy ALL my jewellery on eBay, and converted my mum to buying it too! :D
I find I can get things much cheaper than in the shops, without having to leave the comfort of my sitting room. Got to be a good idea.
Just a tip though, make sure your photos and descriptions do the items justice - I won't buy unless I can clearly see what the items look like, and appreciate knowing how long necklaces and earrings are. The more info the better.
Good luck - who knows, I might be buying your stuff!:rotfl:

thanks, carbonel, because I don't wear jewellery I wouldn't have the first idea as to whether anyone would buy from ebay, so appreciate your post. And thanks also for the info on listing the items, I wouldn't have thought about putting length of necklaces on the listing, so that's really useful.

The stuff is really nice, just not for me, and I'm saving for a holiday it might as well earn me some money (hopefully)!
  • lol same here, i wish i cld wear it, but jewelery always seems to irritate my skin so i jst sell it lol. if anyone wants a link to my iems pom me! haha

  • I've sold a fair bit of costume jewellery on ebay. It doesn't go for much sometimes but the odd thing does exceed my expectations.:D I think because there's so much on there that as mentioned you have to do it justice - especially with clear close up pictures. If your jewellery is a bit unusual or different it will stand out from the rest too.
  • I sold a silver bracelet I never wore on ebay, which did okay. Make sure you factor postal insurance into your postage costs as Royal Mail won't cough up if it gets lost in the post otherwise (apologies if I'm wrong, but this is what I was told). HTH!

  • I sell loads of costume jewellery on ebay - it was meant to be a second income and actually took over my main income ! Be prepared to list items more than once but it will sell - Thursdays and Sundays are my busier times
