Calculating area for wallpaper

Can anyone advise the simplest way to calculate wall area where a staircase is involved?

There is no simplest way.
- In calculating drops, add the width of the paper to the shortest length of the drop for everything over a staircase angle.
- And add the repeat to every drop

You must also allow for the pattern match up if using a patterned paper but wouldn't apply if using plain paper etc0
