Electrician added sockets - need any guarantee/docs?

A year or two ago, we got an electrician round to add a couple of extra sockets in the living room as the ones we had were not very accessible.
We paid cash (not trying to be dodgy but it wasn't a lot of money). Didn't think to get a receipt or anything at the time.
Now we are coming to sell, the solicitors forms ask if any work has been done to the property and assume we will have to disclose the work as it would show up on any plans anyway as extra.
Should we have got any sort of certificate etc to evidence the work was done by a qualified electrician or would this kind of minor work not be seen as significant enough to need evidence?
If we can't prove this was done by a qualified electrician, and we need to, any suggestions of what the implications would be.
Thanks!
Judith

It depends on how he did it.
Adding extra sockets to an existing ring main (in the living room) is not notifiable work so does not need to be either checked by the building regs people or have an electrical certificate issued.
My guess is that he didnt run a new ring, , just added it to the existing wiring, so you should be okay.
A lot of electricians would issue a minor work certificate, which would have been nice, but is not a requirement.

Ah thanks for the confirmation. Yep he did it to the existing ring. Literally put a hole in the wall where we needed it through from the other room and added the required wiring and socket.
So do you think I should even mention this on the solicitor's report or state it was done but not notifiable?
Many thanks

I dont think there is any need to even mention it, as the previous poster said. This kind of work is allowable.0
