when to dig up potatoes please
I have lots of 'wild' potatoes in my polytunnel (dont know about the size of the potatoes but the tops of the plants are seriously HUGE. Do I have to wait until they've flowered to dig them up please ? I haven't a clue what variety as I've never actually planted potatoes in the tunnels, yet they are in all 3 tunnels.

They are known as "volunteers"
If you want to eat them, they will have some tubers once they have flowers but best left for halums to die off to get a decent crop
If just treatting as a weed, pull up anytime - why not pull one and see what you've got?You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
you can dig up a little to eat now, but normally wait till they flowered0
