I haven't really bothered this year as I am feeling a bit disheartened but if anyone can advise what I might be doing wrong I would be grateful.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Its very possible that your doing everything correctly. Just because grow your own dosn't work its not necessarily your fault. Its Mother Natures fault and unfortunately she dosn't give a hoot :D

We were only saying at work last week that if this was your first year growing anything you would be so disheartened.

As previously said, we also usually have a glut of things by now but its been rather lean to say the least.
Please do try again next year, its just a one off year, thats all. :)

    Hi,

this is my first post on these boards - hope it okay to post here first.:)

I have grown fruit and veg since I was young with my Grandad, although I certainly wouldn't consider myself an expert.

I think this year has been shocking as regards harvesting crops. Its been a complete washout and I don't know anyone who hasn't suffered.

My fruit is doing better, though my yields are probably the lowest they have ever been.

Its a shame really as March was beautiful and I managed to get a lot done, but since April it has done nothing but rain, no hosepipe ban this year folks.:rotfl:

Hopefully when we get a good few days of dry weather, I will have the chance to prepare the ground for next year, and I also intend to buy a larger greenhouse and perhaps extra cold frames and cloches in the event that we suffer the same next year.:)
