Hello i started a claim on-line on the 2nd of July (Monday) and got called in for an appointment to complete my claim on the 9th (Monday) to get my booklet and sign a wad of paper and some little slip that the Job seeker employee kept.
Along with my booklet i got a green leaflet with the next appointment date on it which is on the 18th (Wednesday). Will my first payment be on or after the 18th or sometime tomorrow (Friday) or Saturday?
Thanks

Hi, typically processing takes around 14 days from your first interview, so you should expect payment from the 23rd onwards.
However, it very much depends on how busy the Benefit Processing Centre is, I am sure you are well aware that at the moment they are going to be very very busy! So dont hold your breath, once the 14 days or so are up give them a ring and they can usually give you a pretty accurate date of when to expect first payment.Skint but Debt Free at Last :T0 -

Thanks for the reply Bazza. So not so good news i gotta wait till next week for my first payment, one more thing though how much will it be? Just the usual £56 or a little more seeing as it will be the third week of July?

You do not get benefit for the first 3 days of any claim, these are known as qualifying days. You will be paid from 5th July, how much your first payment is will depend what day of what week you sign on.Skint but Debt Free at Last :T0

Money is usually in your account 3 working days after you sign on. If your signing day is a Monday, money will be in your bank account Thursday.0

No two, as you start getting paid from the 5th like Bazza said, but you'll probably get paid on the monday not saturday.Save in 2013: #166: 9,122.51/[STRIKE]5,000[/STRIKE] 10,000Interest earned in 2014: £257.61 20/04/140 -
