Thanks everyone, I'm 99.9% sure it was 1992 so I'll just pick any month
Does anybody know what would happen if they did find out the month was different? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Nothing, except the people who asked the question would give themselves a massive high five and get to sit in pedants corner. There are three types of people in this world. Those who can count and those who can't.0

The land register will reveal the current details for the registered proprietor(s) (RPs) only.
Invariably the entry will also include the date upon which the application to register those RPs was received by the Land Registry. That date will not reflect the date when the RPs moved in as the application to register the ownership is often not made until after that event.
There is no hard and fast rule as to how quickly an application is made as so many factors are involved but normally the application will be submitted between 4 to 8 weeks after the sale has gone through.
NB - the following may be of interest to other posters but in the circumstances you refer to it would appear not to be relevant.
Since April 2000 the actual date of the Transfer and price paid has been entered on the land register for most residential properties. Where both dates are available it might be possible to establish a rough moving date as that is most likely to have fallen between the date of the Transfer and the date of registration i.e. that 4 to 8 week window. However in this case such an entry is unlikely to exist as you state that the property has been owned by your father for 20 years“Official Company Representative
