MC054 Listing policy violation alert: Catalogue not used

I recently listed some 15 year old home cinema speakers. I didn’t used Ebay’s catalogue data as it didn’t properly match what I was selling. This is presumably because the speaker manufacturer changed the specification during the lifetime of the product without changing the model number. That happens frequently with audio products. I added the correct specifications within my product description.
I then received the following message from Ebay.
Is this a new policy?
If Ebay want to enforce it they should ensure that their catalogue details are correct and include all variations of specifications.

Presumably you will appeal? They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

There is nothing to appeal as they have done nothing. My listings are still there.Presumably you will appeal?
I have added Ebay's catalogue specs but also added a note to my listing telling buyers to observe my correct specs within the listing and not Ebay's incorrect specs above it.
I will now probably get two Not as Described claims from buyers who don't read listings. :rotfl:
Fortunately the differences are not significant or major.0 -
