Food stains on white trousers :(

Mrs B went out last night and managed to get various foodstuffs on her white trousers. Have been soaking all night (the trousers, not Mrs B!)

Food stuffs were of the red variety including choritzo(?) tapas etc.. so very red in colour.

Vanish hasn't touched it.

Any recommendations please :o

Many thanks in advance - and apologies if this should be posted elsewhere... feel free to move admin!

What he said ^^^^ depending on the material.

I try that flash with bleach spray first and build up the strength with normal diluted bleach concentrations until results achieved.

I have never found that Vanish was the slightest use. At least, not for cleaning fabrics.
I can afford anything that I want.

There is a spray product called De-Solv-it (Tesco stock it but am sure other places will too) It is fab at removing all sorts of things, I use it all the time.

  • Try hanging outside facing the sun!!!! If we ever get any!

It works for curry and most food stains.

Despite my user name I am female by the way.

    Don't wear white trousers.

It is actually a very brave or stupid act dependant on situation.

There is an all purpose cleaning product called Bar Keepers friend that I have found successfully removes stains from white clothing. You can buy it in hardware stores such as Robert Dyas and I know I did buy some one time in Asda.

Work the powder into a paste on the stain with the aid of something like a toothbrush. With some hard to remove stains you may have to have 2 or perhaps even 3 attempts to shift completely.

This stuff is marvellous for so many household jobs and it makes real light work of bringing tile grouting back to it's original nice white colour.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
