I am coming to the end of my 1st year driving ,on the 8th august my car insurance with ecar expires.(this policy cost me £750 3rd party fire &theft)
Im not sure what to do ! I have used a comparision website (the one where you get a meerkat) and got a quote for my 2nd year driving for £544 3rd party fire & theft with ecar again i used a few other websites and was getting quotes of 1000+ which is way more than i paid in my 1st year!
now do i have to contact ecar to end my current policy as i just dont want it to roll over .. or do i have to give notice that i need to end and repurchase? ive only got about 3 weeks to sort this so im getting worried !
If some could just advise me on the whole process id be gratefull as times like this i wish i had a male influence in my life !!

the policy is for 12 months so you don't need to give them any length of notice that you don't want to renew with them if you wan't to goto another insurer, just as long as it is before the policy will auto-renew.
If you wan't to stay with them just call them up and say you got a quote from them online for such and such can they renew for that price - usually they will say yes. if they say no just say ok thanks i don't want to renew. then just go and buy the policy from the quote you have.0 -

As above make sure you tell them on the phone that you wont be renewing
and follow that up with a recorded delivery letter.
Keep the receipt. Check the bank account for a few months.
Try quotes for fully comp. Its often cheaper these days. If your not going to clai, for your car, Put the excess at £1000 or as high as it will allow.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
