Hi me and my partner have been on the list for years, unfortunatly due to where we want to live nothing comes up, we have recently been offered a house in the next town and have tried to get it, new build etc so not ready yet.
We have basically been told that because of my job (im a childminder) we can't have the house, now after many an argument it is because it doesnt have a garden..they are obviously not wanting us there!!...anyway any advice as to what to do..we have appealed and are awaiting the reply although i'm not hopefull!
Anyone help please, i'm going mad with all this! thanks.

Are you sure that there isn't some other silly rigorous criteria that the HA have imposed on the scheme? To say that you can't have the property because of your job and that it's not got a garden seems very strange...
The only thing I can think of is that the HA may only be selling this property to Keyworkers, and I don't think Childminding comes under Keyworker status. It may be worth ringing the HA and asking them directly what their buyer criteria is.
If you're really stuck and you're anywhere near me... I've got a lovely flat that's gone back on the market today because my lazy buyers have suddenly pulled out ("funding issues" apparently...) ;-)0
