Oven glass in door fallen out - help!

Options
Hi,

Hope someone can help. Was just using the oven, opened the door and there was a clunk - the glass on the inside part of the oven door has half fallen off/come away. I can see what looks like the adhesive used to glue it has come away.

It's just hanging on by the adhesive on the top edges.

The oven is an old one, but still working fine. It's a MOFFAT MSF 610 - MSF 615.

I can't see any screws or any other way of opening the door to get at the glass on the inside.

Please does anyone know if there's a way to either fix this myself or get it fixed or must we buy a new oven.....eeeekk!!

Thx in advance!

  • Search on line for the oven manual, it will probably tell you how to remove the door, then use:-

    to re-attach the glass

Hi, thanks for your reply and the link to the silicone which is very useful.

I have the manual but it does not say how to either remove the door or how to get to the inside of it. If anyone has this oven and knows I'd be very grateful for any guidance.

    Many thanks.

when the glass fell out of my oven door (not same brand)
they changed the entire inner part of the door-(which included the glass pane in it). screws for it were at inner top and sides.
you should check with the manufacturer if you can 1st.

Be a bit cheeky and call your local oven cleaning company. Tell the the model of the oven and ask them if they know how to remove the door!

On my oven (zanussi), there are screws along the bottom flange of the door (near the hinges) which when removed, allow the door to be dismantled and thus access to the glass
