does RAC cover central locking faults?

Suppose something went wrong with the central locking, the alarm kept going off intermittently and the alarm did not disarm and the cart did not respond to keyfob and you couldn't work out whether it was a bad battery or ECU fault, and you happened to break down within your area of cover (outside 1mile from home).

Will RAC come out for you for these problems or are these not classed as breakdowns?

That is such a definitive set of symptoms that I am assuming you are currently in that situation. Best answer is to give them a ring.

If you cannot get into the car or out of the car, Then they will come out.

They wont investigate locking faults, Thats what garages are for.

Bad battery, Fit a new battery.

Thanks for the responses, here's what happened.

Boot lid cable has sheared and been exposed, and then short circuted, took out remote locking, interior lights and electric windows. None of this I knew at the time mind, all I knew at the time was that all of a sudden car behaved erratically and alarm goes off randomly.

The alarm was in a tricky situation to, would keep going off while I was driving and stuff. I was thinkin of driving outside my 1mile home raduis and callin the RAC, because it was scary and potentially illegal to have a car where the alarm keeps going off (doubly bad at night when people are trying to sleep.).

Lucky I found out this was a common fault with the car, and this has precisely happened to 5 or 6 more people on the car make/model forum. Used some electrical tape to cover up the wire and change the blown fuse and job done.
