My son has won...

I'm so proud, my son has won his school's personality of the year award
It is a special school, and my son has a learning disability as well as physical disabilities. He has been described as a character, and loves to make people laugh. It's great that the school celebrate non- academic qualities, and my son is very pleased with the silver trophy

You must be chuffed to little mint balls:D Congratulations to your son and I agree it isn't always about academic achievement!

Thats great new ! Its so nice when your kids get recognition for their achievements and actually extra special (I think anyway ) when its something so special as the attributes you have described. I know some fantastically academicaly minded people who are just plain horrid to be with and rude and up themselves. Having a kind personality is a beautiful thing. No wonder you are proud ! Well done to your son !0

Well that sounds brilliant, what a lovely story. I'm sure you're the proudest parent in the country today. Well done to you too as I'm sure you have had some influence over his behaviour.:beer:0

He's actually had the award for a couple of days, but it was only today that I was able to speak to his teacher. My son doesn't have enough communication skills to tell me about it.
His annual review includes several comments by teachers about his pleasant personality, which was lovely to read. And at his annual review meeting today, he saw the lady from Connexions and winked at her - when I told him that he shouldn't wink at ladies he said, 'I like her' :rotfl:. He doesn't yet understand inappropriate behaviour0 -
Brag away, that's lovely. I bet you are beaming

What a fantastic award for a young man who has enough of life's challenges to face. His personality has obviously stood out compared to his peers, congratulations to all involved.0
