Estate Agent Signs

Hi everyone,

I exchanged on a fabulous house today (:j) and am completing tomorrow. The estate agent who was involved in the sale have asked to put a Sold sign outside the house for a couple of week. I don't neccessarily hav an issue with this. Would there be any reason to refuse?

Thanks!

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Thanks Pea dee... the EA has been reasonable so I don't actually mind. I was just wondering if there was a specific reason not to.

No reason not to, EAs like passers by to know they are selling houses, hence their request

Having a board up is free advertising for them. Fair enough if they were reasonable etc.
Just make sure that their week doesn't run into a month or so as they'll start to "forget" about the board. ;)

Presumably the board has said "sold" since your offer was accepted.

I'm not sure I'd want the board up in my garden after I'd actually moved in.

No, the vendor wouldn't allow a for sale or sold sign up... which is what is making me question it.

I think I may agree with a week after which I will remove it if they dont.
