Certainly not me. If anyone from MSE is reading this could you please implement a block feature?

If anyone else has anything constructive to add please post away because I would dearly love to hear your thoughts.

I apologise. My comments were over the top. Didn't mean to cause offence.

MSE already has a block feature. If you want to ignore somebody, click on their name, view their public profile, then choose "add [name] to your ignore list".

But on to your question - I agree with the others I'm afraid; £100 sounds fine to me. The Financial Ombudsman Service publishes a technical note on D&I here.

Phill99's scenario was a bit extreme, but I suspect that was his point. It's very hard to work out compensation for what *might* have happened, because, frankly, anything *might* have happened. So the law (and FOS) tend to stick to what actually did happen.

OK this is getting ridiculous. I have just managed to get hold of my policy documents online and the excess is more than double what she told me on the telephone because of my age. Any advice on what I should do now? I'm thinking get in contact again and confirm they will honour what I was originally told.

I have such a bad feeling about this whole thing. I don't know what else might pop up out of the woodwork after this woman has bodged my policy.

Are you referring to the compulsory excess? If so, young and inexperienced drivers always get an extra comp. excess on top of the usual comp. excess and any voluntary excess you agreed.

But if they doubled your voluntary excess, then get on to your contact there and get it put right.

She told me the wrong compulsory and voluntary excesses. She told me the ones for drivers who are over 25.
