It depends on how you paid the cash into your account.
Did you:
A, Pay a cashier at the desk.
B, Paid in via a cash machine.
C, Paid In via self service and deposited it via envelope into one of there self service slots.
If it was A, then yes it should show immediately, B, can take up to 48 hours to show. C, can sometimes take 3 days before its credited to your account.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

You should ring them as normally it would be credited straight away.0

Occasionally there can be a problem with the teller system not reading your credit slip properly and it has to be sent off to be processed overnight. If it's not in your account by tomorrow morning then I would ring and query it.0

Credit slip? I've not used them in years. I just put my card in the reader at the counter and hand over what I want to pay in. Usually the money is in the account straight away, well it is with Lloyds and NatWest.
Always best if you can to avoid the automated paying in machines and use the counter, regardless if they are busy and staff ask you to use them whilst waiting in line, as I believe when you use these the money is not credited until the next day.0 -

If the OP used chip & pin then the money would have credited immediately (there is no other way, it works or the transaction fails and has to be processed again).
I assumed a credit slip was used as this would explain why the credit is not showing immediately - called a non teller posted credit in this case. I may be wrong but OP has not come back yet.
As for avoiding using machines, if you use a CDM - one that counts the money (rather than using an envelope) then these funds are credited straight away (with Natwest). I used one on on Saturday and the money was in my account by the time I checked my balance on my iPhone a few minutes later.0
