I am assuming you are referring to the Windows (administrator) password...
Does it have a CD/DVD drive?
If so, create on another PC/laptop the Offline NT Password and Registry Editor, read the instructions, boot it on the HP laptop, and set the password to null (no password). Then you should be able to boot normally, and then set a new password (to be remembered).
You can also set up this software on a USB Flash Drive, but it takes a little more work.0 -
Login as administrator and reset his account.
If administrator use John Grays method0 -
Thanks !!!!0

.... or as it's a new PC you could do a factory reset, then set it up all over again (although you would lose any documents, photos, music etc that have been put on it since he got it)How do I add a signature?0
