Is Eurocamp/Keycam etc (specifically Duinrell) suitable for a 2 and a half year old?

Hi,

We are looking for a family holiday for my wife, myself and our son who will be 2 and a half next April when we wish to travel.

We were interested in going to France for 2 weeks but thought might be ideal as we can get the Hull - overnight crossing and minimise the driving time with our son.

Just wanted opinions if Eurocamp or more specifically Duinrell might be suitable as a destination for a young family for 2 weeks? We have a car so can take some trips to the bulb fields, etc and a nice beach locally is a plus.

Also would be interest in hiring a couple of bikes? Would they have seats available to hire for the back of the bike suitable for a 2.5 year old.

Thought we might be able to ride down to the beach one day.

Any other opinions or suggestions would be appreciated before we go ahead and book. Thanks.

I can't really say if Duinrell would be ok for 2 and a half year old. I went last year but was not really looking from a kids point of view as I haven't got any.

The amusement park is next to site so can get a bit noisy at times. Having said that we were right near it.

From memory the amusement park which you have access to if you stay at park had some frog things dotted around the park. I can't rememeber if they do the whole character thing, people dressed up etc.

If you do go Duinrell take some passport size photos. We were not told until we got there.

Sorry can't be of more help.

Hi, we went to duinrell last yr with my kids 11,3,1 at the time we had a fab time pool everyday and theme park my kids loved it my 1 yr old couldnt go on alot but he still enjoyed himself. We are going back this yr we were so impressed.

Saying this if it was myself, hubby and only the youngest I dont think he would have had so much fun as he was too small for most rides, think most of his fun.was running round enjoying himself with his brothers.

Our friends have just come back with their 1.5 yr old and enjoyed it but wont be returning till shes older (only child).

Also my opinion I think 2 wks there would be too much personally we go for 8 nights, 2 of these full days travelling and that is just enough for us.

We went to Duinrell with our 7, 5 and 2 year olds last year and it was fabulous! Lots to do and all 3 children really, really enjoyed it. You can hire bikes with trailers, so your child is secure in the back and our 2 year old absoultely loved it.

We are considering going back there next year we loved it so much.

Thanks for the reply, glad it sounds like an option.

We were thinking 2 weeks so we could take it easy and perhaps visit some of the towns nearby and also the bulb fields as it will be April.

    Thanks again, David

Not sure i can be much help as i dont have children, but have stayed at this park 3 times in last few years and have seen lots with tots and they seem to be enjoying it.There are lots of great places nearby within an hours drive,i think if you want to take it really easy 2 weeks, but a full week would be enough.I would also say if your thinking of April ie out of school holidays,i would think of looking at either booking via sun or daily mail holidays,as they book you through Eurocamp and ok i take my own bedding but have never paid more than £80+ferry(dfds)about £44 return for a week, even in July.

    Re: your title 'Keycam'
Not being familiar I googled this, it seems that it is a 'spy camera' ideal for, well let's just say less than angelic cinematic productions.
Not sure about being suaitable for a 2+ year old but I've ordered one!
thanks for such a useful post :D
