Taken my forms to court today...

..for my divorce. Been living separately for over 2 years since he left, I finally admitted he wasn't coming back just over a year ago, and since then I have been getting on with my new life.

Still, it felt really strange standing at the court office, when I think of the pomp and ceremony of the wedding day.

I feel sad that things have ended up this way, but glad that I can start to move on with my life. Does that make any kind of sense?

I remember standing at the courts with my boyfriend (who became my husband), he was with his girlfriend (who became his wife) and i remember thinking.... how did it come to this?

My boyfriend came to make sure i went through with it. His girlfriend came to give him moral support.

All water under the bridge now.

It makes perfect sense. We all enter marriage thinking it will last forever, we have our hopes and dreams of our life together so it's only natural that when those hopes and dreams don't turn out quite the way we intended, we should feel sad.

Good luck moving forward in your new life, I wish you all the best x
Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!!
  • thanks guys. we have kids, so trying to keep things amicable. Don't think we'll get done as quick as Tom-Kat though!
