Miss sold mobile phone insurance

Hi, I hope someone can give me some advice...
I have just checked my direct debits that I have and have noticed two that I did not recognize. I have been to my bank and have found that they are both for mobile phone insurance (one for £2.99 a month and one for £4.49 a month and started back in 2000 and 2001! (I know I should have checked these out before!)
I was not aware of ever agreeing to take out any insurance on these phones.
I have cancelled these now but does anyone know if there is anything I can do about reclaiming the money?

Unless you can prove you refused it at the time, I think it's gone a bit too far done the line for a mis-selling claim. I doubt you've even got the phones anymore, so you could write to them asking for a refund on goodwill terms - maybe tell them you thought it transferred to your new phones, and didn't realise? Ask that it be refunded from the upgrade date?
You never know your luck, but there is a chance that they will simply tell you that it isn't their responsibility to check your direct debits for you....Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
