Pretty much as the title says!

Dont mind where we go (not Tunisia though) prefer to fly from a Midlands or Manchester airport, would love to go AI, but dont want to spend more than around £1400 all in (inc baggage).

2 adults 1 child

Just wondered if anyone could

a) recommend anywhere

b) tell us the best time/place to book as its only just over 6 weeks til we go

c) any advice really!!

Thanks a lot

Well it would be cheaper to look for things at the later end of your date range. Most schools go back on the 1st so the school holiday prices usually end then too.

Go on lastminute.com, or icelolly.com, or lowcostholidays.com and see what they have. Unless you list your interests, hobbies, preference of cities over beaches etc, it's a bit hard to say what might suit you.

My brother loves Paphos, and found nice villas with pools about 10 mins walk from the beach, if that helps - said it was good for the kids.
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Sorry I was at work when I sent that and didnt get chance to do a proper post!

Right, we are parents of a 9 year old, he loves football, swimming and playing on the beach, I am equally happy to chillout by the pool, go walking around old ruins, go on boat trips or sit on the beach. My hubby likes to go places and it will drive him insane if there is nothing to do outside of the complex we stay.

I have looked at Tenerife, Lanzarote and Rhodes mainly. I saw someone else asking about this place http://www.firstchoice.co.uk/holidays/lanzarote-holidays/playa-de-los-pocillos/hotel-lanzarote-village/ but even for the latest time we can go, its still around £1600.

I have looked at loads of places and while their prices are a lot cheaper, their reviews on TA are bad. I know that I cant take everything everyone writes on their at face value, some people just like to moan aboout everything, but when there is a repeated theme, i'm wary!

When I said when shall I look for the holiday, I meant when do they start releasing the late bookings??

I have looked at so many my eyes are starting to go fuzzy!!!

beach just down the road(a steep road)
went to the zoo fuengirola. sealife centre benelmadena.
speed boat rides out to sea.skylift up the mountain.

For a 9 yo i can say Hotel Club Akti in Kos . Food incredible and Kardamina is a decent enough place and a free bus into town. We returned last week from Paphos . Louis Phaethon Beach Club Hotel this hotel is the best hotel AI we have stayed and superb for 9 yo kids and all ages . Pools ,Food and entertainment absolutly brilliant and so clean . Now your job is to try to get them into your price range. with timing and a little hard work you may do it .good luck

I'm taking my 8 year old to the Lagotel apartments in Alcudia. Nice pools, courtesy bus to beach, all inclusive. Reviews on trip advisor are a little bit mxed , but overall scores 4/5. The Hidropark is nearby if, like my daughter, he loves the water. There are a variety of activities available at the hotel aswell.

On Lowcostholidays with flights from birmingham on 28th August for 7 nights, total price for all inclusive with luggage, transfers and insurance was £1265 for your party of 2 adults and 1 child.

Like you, my budget was limited, and I must have looked at hundreds of combinations of flight, dates and hotels before I decided. It was a relief once I'd booked it. Hope you find what you are looking for.

7 nights all inclusive San Miguel Hotel in Puerto San Miguel Ibiza flying from Birmingham 8/9/12 = £1398.50 (flight times not too good though) with Thomson or room only (all inclusive but no flights) £584.64 on booking.com Same hotel but hotel called Club Hotel Cartago on this site.
Loads going on for your son, adjacent to the beach for you but not much outside the complex for your hubby. There are caves you can walk to or a bar outside the complex with a small mini golf. Bus stop just outside the hotel so easy to get to other parts of the island and a land train trip you can take. Also an excursion shop in the resort to book trips which is usually cheaper than booking with Thomson.
